Winners to be announced Sunday, and prizes awarded!

This Sunday we will announce the winners of our contest from last month, and the prizes will be awarded! Don't miss it!

Special events at CAC this Sunday!

This weekend is Pentecost Sunday! And a baby dedication for for Gabriel Grant! Come expecting an awesome move of God! We are postponing the next installment of the Pentecostal Distinctives Series to focus on these special events this coming Sunday. Hope to see you there!

Great opportunity - help needed - pics attached

Recently our mutual friend, Evangelist Brian Norman, preached the Thailand National Youth Conference, where Jesus blessed via Holy Ghost outpouring and miracles happening. On Sunday, after the conference was concluded, he then traveled up into the mountains and preached for the Akha Mountain Tribe. They are descendants of the Mongolians. Currently there are 25,000 of them living in a mountainous area of Thailand, where there is only one Jesus-name church of about 25 Akha members.

The government of Thailand is in the process of moving approximately two million (2,000,000) more of the Akha people to that same area over the next 10 years! The 25 Akha members of that local church have begin construction of a new church building, but they could only afford to build it very small. It needs to be built at least three times larger than before! The more funds we send them, the larger they will be able to make it. Even a few dollars would help. The Akha did not ask Bro. Brian Norman for money, yet he volunteered to send them $500 of his own money. He also volunteered to ask some churches here in the USA to partner with him, so as to hopefully raise considerably more than his initial $500.

Please consider sowing a seed offering into this worthy endeavor. Simply make the check to CAC and write "Akha Tribe" in the memo.

Time wise, the deadline for giving is the end of this month. If you intend to give, please let us know.

Your consideration in this matter is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

On the Presidential Endorsement of Same-Sex Marriage

Inline-image
For two decades, the frog has been in the pot while the temperature has been slowly turned up. Yesterday, it was finally cooked and served to the American people in a sauce so thick as to cover the rancid flavor of the dish.

The process began with the Bush presidencies and their toleration for homosexuality. It was advanced in full by the Clinton Administration. It has now reached its logical zenith under Obama. So we should not be surprised by the official announcement that the President of the United States of America has finally declared to the world his opposition to the historical, common law and biblical meaning of marriage. President Obama may be remembered for many things, but few are as fundamental in its treason to his countrymen, to his oath of office and to the living God, then his decision to use the presidency to redefine a definition of marriage that was established on Day Six of Creation and has been the benchmark of civilization for 6,000 years.

Mark your calendars — May 9, 2012 — the President of the United States of America finally crossed a line from which there is no return without repudiation and repentance. Terrorists are dangerous. The economy is a real and present danger. But there is simply nothing other than the holocaust of the unborn which imperils the safety of our country or places our people in jeopardy as does the leader of the Western world publicly raising his fist at the Heavens and declaring that the bedrock institution of society, ordained of God and meant to be protected by the state, is little more than a convention of convenience for the children of Sodom to transform the meaning of something which is precious to Jesus Christ and a living picture of His love for the Church, into a legally protected justification for perversion, and a vehicle of hatred aimed directly at that love.

Reminder to go VOTE!

Today is West Virginia's primary. Please remember to go VOTE! We ask you to vote Christian first, vote in support of the constitution second, and in support of your pocketbook third. (Thanks to Rev. Randy Witt of Charleston for inspiring that succinct statement of priorities.) May God richly bless America with revival and righteousness.

Tribute to Bro. Ricky Ferrell

Ferrell_ricky

Brother Ricky L. Ferrell, of Hepzibah, WV went to be with his Lord Tuesday, June 3, 2003. He was 33 years old. He was born Monday, December 15, 1969, in Clarksburg, WV the son of Bernard “Bunny” Ferrell and Linda Flowers Ferrell. In addition to his parents, Brother Ricky was survived by his beloved sister, Ora Michelle “Missy” Ferrell of Hepzibah, WV; beloved brother, Christopher Blair Ferrell of Reynoldsville, WV; a nephew, Isaiah Blair Ferrell; two half brothers, Jason Ferrell of West Milford, WV and Bernard “Bub” Jenkins of Adamston, WV; two half sisters, Tuesday and her husband Keith Richards of Weston, WV, and Joyce Ann Richards of Tennessee; two grandmothers, Lelia Flowers of Hepzibah, and Shirley Davis of Big Isaac, WV; five special, caring aunts, Shirley Wallick of Dover, OH, Donna Flowers of Syracuse, NY, Melba Shaw of Clarksburg, WV, Dory Cox of Hepzibah, WV, Teresa Cox of Clarksburg, WV, and Mary Ann Baker of Freeport, OH; four uncles, Larry Flowers of Silver Creek, NY, Tommy Flowers of Ohio, Jimmy Flowers of Huntington, WV, and Carl Ferrell of Clarksburg, WV; and many loving cousins as well. Brother Ricky was preceded in death by four grandparents, Clark Flowers, Howard Davis, and Ora and Roy Green Ferrell. Brother Ricky was a graduate of Liberty High School in Clarksburg, WV. He was born again of water and of the Spirit in 1989. In light of having cerebral palsy, Brother Ricky had an extremely active lifestyle. His wonderful smile and charming personality touched many lives. He knew no strangers. He enjoyed life to the fullest extent. The love that Brother Ricky received was immeasurable, and the love that he gave was precious to all who crossed his travels. Along with his time spent with family, he loved cars, especially Volkswagens and ’57 Chevys. His favorite color was green, and he carried a passion for frogs and marbles. At the time of his promotion to Glory, Brother Ricky was a member of the House of the Lord Jesus Christ. Previously, he, along with his mother and his sister, had been members of Christian Apostolic Church for many years. His family also has strong ties to the Salvation Army church. His homegoing service at Davis Funeral Home, in Clarksburg, was overseen by Pastor Paul Glaspell (House of the Lord Jesus Christ), Pastor Doug Joseph (Christian Apostolic Church) and Major Mary Kay Hearne (Salvation Army church). His earthly remains were buried in Marshville Cemetery. His memory will live on in the hearts of his many friends and family.

Everyone who knew Brother Ricky was ever encouraged by his courage and upbeat countenance, which he maintained in spite of his challenging life circumstances. He persevered with an attitude of joy and a sweet smile in spite of his handicap (paralysis due to cerebral palsy). Sister Missy Ferrell, his precious twin who survives him, does likewise. In his devotion to God and his strength of character, Brother Ricky was a shining example to all of us. Now in Heaven, Brother Ricky is no longer paralyzed. He is now tall and strong and free, even as his heart always was during his time here in this life, spent serving the Lord Jesus. We long for our Lord’s return, when we will get to see Brother Ricky again, in that great Reunion yet to come.

Brother Ricky’s passing was due to a house fire. At that time there was an outpouring of help and compassion for the family from both the HLJC and CAC assemblies, as well as from the Salvation Army church, and from the area community in general. Pastor Glaspell set up a trust fund to benefit the family, and Pastor Joseph helped promote it to the community in press releases to news media outlets and on the CAC website. Sister Cheryl Colombo designed a basket for receiving offerings at the visitation and the funeral, to assist the family. Eventually, with help from the business community and from family and church people, Brother Ricky’s surviving mother and sister, Sister Linda Ferrell and Sister Missy Ferrell, were blessed with a new home that replaced the burnt one.

Update: Feb 21, 2012, at 3:00 PM:

Almost nine (9) years ago Sis Linda Ferrell lost her son, Ricky, and their home to a fire. At the time it was said to be an electrical fire of accidental cause. However, after all this time, now an arrest has been made with charges of arson and murder. It is our understanding that whenever someone commits arson that causes death, the charge is first degree murder, even if the arsonist did not know that a person was in the building. Based on what Sis Linda told us, it seems the arsonist had finally confessed to someone close to him (perhaps a girlfriend) who reported the confession to police. She does not know very many details, but she has been given the understanding that the suspect is a man who lived very near her house. He is still incarcerated at this time. Bail has been set for the arson but not for the murder. It is very hard for Sis Linda to have to revisit and relive a tragedy that hurts so deeply. Please hold her up in your prayers.
